Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Educate customers on the process of vehicle repairs, insurance procedures, customer rights, repair techniques, safety, and value.
- Completes initial estimates, write complete estimates after full disassembly and damage evaluation, and lock final estimates
- Manage each repair throughout the process and ensure Russ’s Collision Service quality standards by performing in-process QC.
- Keep every customer fully informed and updated on the status of their vehicle and provide the best possible experience for our customers.
- Able to pull and review all data procedures for/with Body Technicians and complete post-scanning for each vehicle in the repair process
- Pre-close the final repair order, Handle disbursement paperwork, address exceptions in the file and ensure carrier specific requirements are complete
Qualifications
- Customer Service Skills
- Organization and multi-tasking skills, good time management and the ability to adapt easily to fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dealing with Insurance partners preferred
- Ability to deal with fast paced environments
- Knowledge of multiple estimating systems, CCC one preferred
The Body Technician should possess the practical knowledge to perform metal repairs, pull and square, fill and sand, R&I, repair and replace. Be proficient at metal straightening, plastic finish work, structural repair and welding. They must have or be provided with the necessary tools to perform the above duties. They must maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. They must also practice core values in all that they do: Honesty, integrity, teamwork and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Comply with all safety and OSHA procedures and requirements including: earplugs, eye-protection, welding helmets and gloves
- Maintain clean and orderly production area throughout the work day
- Maintain tools and equipment within department
- Be a mentor for all apprentices and helpers
- Responsible for all repairs assigned and listed on the repair plan
- Maintain a copy of repair plan in the vehicle
- Complete repairs in a quality manner, following our Standard Operating Procedures
- Complete repairs according to factory specifications and I-CAR procedures
- Immediately notifying Appraiser/Estimator of hidden or missed damage
- Strive to maintain target date in accordance to customer’s expectations
- Participate in shop and company meetings
- Check parts for correctness before starting repairs. Immediately notify the Parts Manager of any discrepancies
- Be organized and work with Parts Manager to utilize our parts carts and storage areas
- Be responsible for and accountable for all parts assigned to each job
- Apply undercoating, corrosion protection, gravel guard, seam sealer, weld-through primer and lubricants as required
- Possess ability to diagnose and correctly repair damage
- Possess the necessary mechanical knowledge to perform body repairs
- Possess practical knowledge of setting up, measuring and straightening full frame and unibody vehicles with computerized equipment
- Immediately notify the Appraiser/Estimator of any vehicles that will not meet the target delivery date
- Upon nearing completion of a job, advise A+ Repair Planner of workload and requesting a new assignment if appropriate
- Perform quality check on refinish work prior to reassembly
- Perform quality check after reassembly
- Attend I-CAR classes when required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School
- 5+ years for Journeymen
- 0-3 for Apprentice
- Valid Driver’s License
The Paint Technician is responsible for all mask, prep and paint work. This includes overseeing all personnel in the paint department. They must be will organized and maintain a positive attitude at all times with quality at the top of the list. The Paint Technician is responsible for maintaining a minimum standard of profitability/gross profit. They must maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. They must also practice core values in all that they do: Honesty, integrity, teamwork and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Be guided by manufacturer’s recommended procedures and in accordance with OSHA/EPA
- Maintain clean, orderly and professional production area throughout the work day
- Maintain tools and equipment within department
- Ensuring the paint work is of our highest quality and followed by staff
- Perform quality checks on metal work prior to beginning refinish process
- Solving paint problems
- Taking responsibility for quality, efficient use of materials, energy, maintenance and clean up
- Validate color match and spray outs to be performed on all colors before panels are “jambed”
- Manage preparation and application of all primers and sealers
- Checking final masking for alignment and tight fit
- Staying current on all technical innovations
- Maintenance of spray booth – keeping it in a clean working order
- Responsible for all operations assigned and listed on the repair plan
- Maintain a copy of repair plan in the vehicle
- Immediately notifying Appraiser/Estimator of supplemental needs, if necessary
- Strive to maintain target date in accordance to customer’s expectations
- Participate in shop and company meetings
- Check all parts for proper fit and correctness. Immediately notify the Appraiser/Estimator of any discrepancies
- Immediately notify the Appraiser/Estimator of any vehicles that will not meet the target delivery date
- Rework any paint issue that does not meet our or the customer’s standards
- Insure ALL spray operations are complete, masking is removed and ALL paint related disassembly is reassembled prior to metal shop re-assembly
- Metal strainers to be used during the mixing of paint
- Perform quality check after paint
- Attend I-CAR classes when required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School/Technical School
- 5+ years for a Journeyman
- 0-3 years for an apprentice
The Detail Technician is responsible for cleaning and quality control of the repairs. They must be able to read and understand every aspect of the repair plan. The detailer must be meticulous and thorough in the final process on the vehicle. This is a paramount. They must maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. They must also practice core values in all that they do: Honesty, integrity, teamwork and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):
- Order, stock and maintain necessary detailing products
- Maintain safe and clean work area
- Complete assigned work in a timely manner using proper methods
- Read and understand repair plan to insure that all the repairs listed are complete
- Be aware of any “Special Requests” the customer wanted done
- Correct discrepancies found and/or notify the Appraiser/Estimator
- Immediately notify the Appraiser/Estimator of any missed damage or discrepancies that do not appear on the repair plan (hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, etc.)
- Removal of any and all overspray
- Clean interior and exterior of vehicle
- Carefully inspect freshly-painted surfaces
- Polish and buff new and old paint as requested
- Install stripes and decals per repair plan
- Clean up of the shop and office areas including bathrooms
- Empty shop and office trash cans on a daily basis
- Review daily with the Appraiser/Estimator on the vehicles going that day
- Organize clean-ups (when possible) according to due out times
- Move vehicles to dedicated location as possible when customers drop off
- Keep vehicles ready for delivery backed in dedicated location
- Moving appropriate vehicles in at night for security purposes
- Making sure the vehicles left out on the lot over night are locked and secured
- During inclement weather vehicles are brought in or covered in plastic
- Completed quality control sheets on every vehicle
- Keys should be given to the office along with repair order from vehicle once completed
- Fill out and maintain weekly time cards. Calculate daily hours
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Technical school is a plus, but not necessary.
Some detailing, buffing and/or technical school is a plus, but not necessary
